The Moodle Platforms of HAUP: Digital Continuing Education in the Agricultural and Environmental Sector

Cooperation with: University College for Agrarian and Environmental Pedagogy (HAUP)

Task areas:

  • Hosting and support of two comprehensive Moodle instances
  • Implementation of the technical interface to CampusOnline

For the University College for Agrarian and Environmental Pedagogy (HAUP) in Vienna, think modular supports two dedicated Moodle platforms for academic studies and professional development, serving around 6,500 users. Automated course and user management via CampusOnline, secure hosting, regular updates, and personalized support ensure smooth and sustainable operation.

Two Moodle platforms form the digital learning infrastructure for academic education, continuing education and professional training.

HAUP operates two separate Moodle platforms to support academic and continuing education – each designed, hosted, and technically managed by think modular digital solutions.

Two tiles linking to University College of Teacher Education Upper Austria platforms: academic training for future teachers and advisors, and continuing education for educators and advisors.

The platform studium.haup-lp.at supports the academic training of future teachers and advisors in the agricultural and environmental sectors, who go on to work in schools, adult education, or regional development. Currently, the platform hosts approximately 2,800 courses for around 3,700 registered users, of whom roughly 900 are regularly active.

The platform fortbildung.haup-lp.at is used for continuing education in the agricultural and environmental fields. HAUP serves as a central provider of professional development programs in agro- and environmental pedagogy. Topics range from personal development and pedagogy to subject-specific and economic content. Approximately 760 courses are currently available to about 3,900 registered users, with around 800 actively participating.

Automated role assignment and course synchronization reduce administrative workload and minimize the risk of errors.

A key technical component is the interface to CampusOnline, which enables the automatic creation of courses and direct enrollment of students and instructors.

think modular provides full-service support for both platforms – from hosting and monitoring to regular Moodle upgrades and security measures, as well as customized support and feature development. New plugins, design adaptations, or additional features are integrated as needed – tailored to teaching and organizational requirements.

Thanks to the clear separation of user groups, combined with centralized management and intelligent automation, a digital learning environment has been created that combines efficiency, user-friendliness, and pedagogical quality.

Due to the diversity of programs and educators at our institution, we submit a wide range of requests to think modular. These are always handled promptly, with respectful responses and clear explanations. In short: ask – answer – solution in no time. That’s what we call service!
